Health Disclosure
Those participating in EDGE challenge course programs can expect to walk at least 2 miles on flat and gently sloping trails over the course of a program. All Aerial challenge course elements are considered, by their nature, to be physically demanding. This can increase the risk of injury or illness in individuals with certain medical or physical conditions. As a result, participation on the Aerial challenge course elements including the Alpine Tower, and Total Team Challenge are not recommended for individuals with
- Cardiac conditions including high blood pressure
- Weight over 350lbs (this is the harness weight limit)
- Bone, joint, or muscle injuries that may be exacerbated by physical activity
- Respiratory conditions that may be exacerbated by physical activity
- Uncontrolled seizures or epilepsy
- Individuals who are pregnant should consult their doctor before participating
Individuals who have such conditions should note this on their forms. While everyone may not climb, there are multiple ways to participate in activities, including options that keep both feet on the ground, so there will still be roles for each person to remain engaged in the program and contributing to the group.
